The Brigadoon Cottage on Mackinac Island caught fire on the evening of Sunday, May 30, 2021. Flames could be seen from the roof of the private Brigadoon Cottage, located on Main Street next door to the Mackinac Island Yacht Club. The Mackinac Island Fire Department was dispatched about 6:01 p.m. with mutual aid from the St. Ignace and Mackinaw City fire departments. Communications, planning, and resource management were key in bringing the fire under control without injury or involvement of additional structures.
