Managing Senior Police Chaplain
James Friedman is the Managing Senior Police Chaplain and Reserve Police Officer for the New Baltimore Police Department. James also serves as Managing Police Chaplain for the Eastpointe Police Department, Saint Clair Shores Police Department, and Roseville Police Department. Friedman also serves as the chaplain for the Macomb Police Chief’s Association and the Macomb Criminal Justice Training Center and is a member of the Southeastern Police Chief’s Association. He is also a Police Commissioner with the Michigan Association of Police Chiefs (MAPC) Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (MLEAC).

James Friedman is the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Eastpointe and President of the 21st Century Chaplain’s Network.

James serves as a Program Director and Instructor for the Macomb Community College Criminal Justice Training Center teaching programs such as Autism Awareness, Cultural Awareness, Sexual Harassment, Ethics, and Stress Awareness. He also teaches for the Washtenaw College Correction Officer Academy and Kirtland Community College’s Basic Police Academy. Chaplain Friedman is also a graduate of the Macomb Police Reserve Academy and Public Service Chaplain Academy.

James Friedman holds several certifications in disciplines such as Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) (Peer and Group), Youth Mental Health First Aid, Adult and Law Enforcement Mental Health First Aid, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Autism Awareness, Safety and Risk Management and ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate).

James holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.
